pOPPY SCOTLAND HALF MARATHON FUNDING APpeal

Dunoon Community Council and Dunoon Poppy Appeal will be hosting the Poppy Scotland half marathon on Saturday 19th September 2026.

The half marathon will run between Dunoon Pier and Toward lighthouse.

We hope to raise £10k for Poppy Scotland by hosting this event, however there is a significant cost to the organisation, such as, insurance, medals/t-shirts for runners, Council fees, hire of equipment. This all adds up and the cost will be in excess of £4k.

The organisers also plan to host a town market in Argyll Gardens with live entertainment in the afternoon. We want to make this a true spectacle  for the residents of Dunoon and to show case the town to all the visitors that will come for the event.

We are looking for help from local residents and businesses to pull this off. If you can spare anything to help put this event on and raise funds for Poppy Scotland, it would be greatly appreciated.
