The type of personal information we collect

We currently collect and process the following information:
 

  • Personal identifiers, contacts and characteristics (for example, name and contact details).
  • Website activity through cookies – this may be collected via our website hosting site. Data may be used to deliver functionality of our website. Our hosting site and google analytics may provide us with user statistics.
  • Volunteer data – When voluntarily offered we may store information when deemed necessary, such as medical risks that affect safety or inclusion e.g., severe allergic reactions.

Any forms, or information provided through the website may be stored on their servers in accordance with our privacy policy. We do not store payment information.

How we get the personal information and why we have it

Most of the personal information we process is provided to us directly by you for one of the following reasons:
 

  • Enquiring about Dunoon Community Council and its work
  • Subscribing to email updates about our work
  • If making a donation or buying a product
  • Website functionality
  • Conducting Community Engagement Projects on behalf of Argyll and Bute Council and other organisations


 

We use the information that you have given us in order to respond to an enquiry, send you updates (where this has been requested), contact you, maintain a membership contract, as evidence of support/approval for project/part of project.
 

We may share this information with Argyll and Bute Council or other relevant bodies if requested to prove community support or community engagement projects

How we store your personal information

Your information is securely stored.

We keep a database of our members including names and contact information. This information will be reviewed annually and kept as long as it is deemed necessary.
 

We may keep names and contact information for other purposes for ten years, or sooner if it is no longer needed. We review the information that we are keeping annually.

We will then dispose your information by permanently deleting digital information, or destroying (shredding) physical information.

Your data protection rights

Your right of access - You have the right to ask us for copies of your personal information.
 

Your right to rectification - You have the right to ask us to rectify personal information you think is inaccurate. You also have the right to ask us to complete information you think is incomplete.
