Dunoon Community Council and its partners will be organizing this years commemorations to celebrate the 80th Anniversary of VE Day.
VE Day is Thursday 8th May 2025. Due to it being a week day, the celebrations will be spread over two days. Thursday 8th May and Saturday 10th May.
Thursday 8th May celebrations will be held outside the Castle House Museum at 2245hrs with the lighting of the towns beacon at 2301hrs to coincide with the end of hostilities 80 years ago.
Saturday 10th May 2025 celebrations will start at 1000hrs in Argyll Gardens with a town market. At 1200hrs there will be picnic tables which are available to book and live entertainment from local band and artists. All money raised during the day will be donated to Poppy Scotland.
